Our Story

Where we are now: El Rahman is now completely community funded, relying on donations and community support to help keep us running and doing what we do best. We have an office set up at Coolaroo, we’re helping house many Palestinian refugees including providing these families with all furniture, white goods, clothing, food & more, as well as covering their rental & utility expenses until they are able to financially support themselves. El Rahman also assist victims of domestic violence, providing financial assistance to people in need, as well as other projects such as youth programs & camps, toy drives, and more.

Our Aim: We aim to be the voice of the community, to hear you out, to do what we can to make a positive change within our broad community. With continued community support, El Rahman is aiming to grow to be able to assist more people in need, with minimal admin costs and ability to use funds as donors intend them to be used.

As a local community leader, Sheikh Abdulrahman has extensive experience working with the community, youth work, homeless aid & more. Similarly, Adam Raad acquired his certificate 4 in Community cervices allowing him to grow and to further assist the community. As the charity organisation grew, we have been collaborating with other local organisations, growing in popularity within the community, received much support & trust from our community and community leaders.

Where we started: El Rahman Inc was founded by Sheikh Abdulrahman Malas & Adam Raad, who after working with the community both individually and together for over 13 years, decided to come together and form El Rahman.

Our Mission

El Rahman is dedicated to tackling complex social challenges with unwavering passion and commitment. Our mission encompasses various initiatives, from assisting the homeless and supporting families affected by domestic violence to welcoming Palestinians seeking refuge in Australia. We aim to provide a helping hand to everyone in need.

Through collaboration and community involvement, we offer comprehensive support, including shelter, resources, and emotional care for those facing hardship. Additionally, we run youth programs designed to address the unique challenges young people face, providing them with the tools and support needed to navigate issues such as mental health, substance abuse, and social isolation. Our approach is rooted in empathy and a strong belief in the intrinsic dignity of every person, motivating us to tirelessly pursue a more inclusive and compassionate society. Through El Rahman projects, we recognize that genuine progress is achieved when we unite in our dedication to uplift and empower the most vulnerable among us.

Our Community

El Rahman collaborates closely with the community to facilitate and coordinate support for those in need. Working with the National Zakat Foundation (NZF) and Homeless Aid organisation demonstrates the profound impact of community support and charity in addressing poverty and homelessness. NZF channels Zakat contributions to provide financial assistance, housing support, and employment training to those in need, fostering stability and independence. Collaborations with Homeless Aid amplify these efforts, ensuring coordinated outreach, resource sharing, and advocacy for systemic change. Together, these initiatives embody the spirit of community solidarity, offering comprehensive support to uplift the most vulnerable members of society.
